  1. Add support for wildcard mx records

...unless I'm just retarded and can't figure out how to add them?

  3. Offer the ability to export domains as named zone files

I think it would be nice to offer the ability to export domain names as named zones, so we can pop them into named on other servers as a backup.

Could be used even just to keep a backup of our records...

Maybe even download all records a as Zip archive?

  4. Allow shadow primary/secondary DNS configuration

If it is possible to allow Rage4 to provide secondary DNS it could potentially allow customers to use multiple providers from a shadow primary. This would offer greater flexibility though its likely it would be at the cost of geolocation. Caching and serving records would allow virtually any record to be served. It would also allow the DNS records to be maintained in house.

This type of configuration is supported by at least two major providers with anycast services, though it is not a very common feature.

As you consider this I'll add a couple more items:

    1. Add a migrate…

  5. Cloning of domain records from an existing domain to a new one

I run a few edge caches around the globe which can cache many domains. It would be of great benefit if new domains could be cloned from an existing domain as the records would be identical.

What would be really useful in my case would be the ability to have many domains running off a central set of dns records : )

  6. GoogleDNS Geo Location

Everyone using Googles DNS (extremely popular) appear as being in the US.

Google publishes sub net mappings to location here: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/faq#locations

  7. improve the access to the profile page

I lost the last 5 minutes searching for the page where I could get my API key ;) -- Finally, i found it at the (very discrete) link into the "Logged as ..." at the page left top.

At the page top right, currently there is three options: "DNS Manager", "Change password" and "Logout"

I suggest to change this "Change password" option to a more abrangent "My Profile" or "Profile" option which would open the current "logged as ..." page. And then, inside this page, put the "Change password" option.

  8. to ask for password confirmation at "Change Password"

Changing a password without seeing it neither confirming it could be a dangerous thing. :)

  9. To fix typos

    • at login page: PERMANENT (instead of "PERMAMENT")
    • at new A/AAAA record: Geo Region -> Global AVAILABILITY (instead of "AVILABILITY")

  11. Support HTTPS record

    https://blog.cloudflare.com/speeding-up-https-and-http-3-negotiation-with-dns/

"We began investigating and found these to be a part of Apple’s iOS14 beta release where they were testing out a new SVCB/HTTPS record type."

    https://doc.powerdns.com/authoritative/changelog/4.4.html#change-4.4.0-alpha1

New RRtypes: SVCB, HTTPS, APL. Fixed RRtypes: IPSECKEY.
